Cafe Manager
Job details
Full job description
You’ll own the daily rhythm of a café that keeps locals and travellers fuelled — setting the standard for service, quality, and a team that works well together.
Tod Mountain Cafe is a small, family-owned cafe in the heart of Sun Peaks Resort. You’ll lead the floor and kitchen crew, working closely with the owner on schedules, menu execution, and day-to-day costs. This is a hands-on role: you’ll be on the floor during peak season. Within 6–12 months, you’ll have a consistent schedule that hits service and cost targets, a trained team that can run smooth shifts, and regulars who return because the experience is dependable. If you’re ready to run a café with care and common sense, apply.
Responsibilities
Own daily café operations — open and close, manage cash, uphold service standards, and keep the floor running smoothly.
Lead, schedule, and train a small team: set clear expectations, give timely feedback, and cover gaps when needed.
Manage inventory and supplier orders — track waste, control costs, and keep stock aligned with sales.
Deliver a consistent customer experience: resolve issues, maintain quality, and build relationships with regulars.
Maintain cleanliness, equipment, and food safety records to meet provincial health standards.
Coordinate with the owner on menus, promotions, and staffing decisions.
Track sales and labour; report what’s working and where to adjust.
Modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant budget
Monitor revenues to determine labour cost
Participate in marketing plans and implementation
