Full job description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented House Cleaner to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized private household. The successful candidate will perform routine cleaning, housekeeping, laundry, and household maintenance duties while ensuring a safe and comfortable home environment.

Position: House Cleaner / Light Duty Cleaner – NOC 65310
Location: Scarborough, Ontario, M1E 4C4
Employment Type: Full-time, Term/Contract
Hours: 30 hours per week
Wage: $36.92 per hour
Schedule: Day shift
Vacancies: 1
Start Date: As soon as possible
Work Setting: Employer’s private home; on-site work only.
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
Language: English

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors

  • Dust furniture

  • Vacuum carpets, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture

  • Make beds and change sheets

  • Stock linen closets

  • Clean and disinfect kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances

  • Pick up debris and empty garbage containers

  • Launder clothing and household linens

  • Mend clothing and linens when required

  • Perform general light housekeeping and cleaning duties

  • Wash windows, walls and ceilings

Required Qualifications

  • Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

  • 7 months to less than 1 year of related cleaning or housekeeping experience

  • Ability to communicate in English

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work on site in a private household

  • Reliable and punctual

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in residential or household cleaning

  • Organized and able to manage cleaning tasks efficiently

  • Honest and trustworthy

  • Patient and dependable

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Knowledge of safe cleaning and disinfecting practices

  • Good time-management skills
